It’s one of those nights when the only person that can comfort you is yourself as you hold your sullied face in your hands. Your head gets hotter as tears start running down, but you try so hard to be quiet because even a whimper will cause you to hate yourself more. Utter loneliness devours your soul, but you don’t care. You secretly wish your heart is an eternal wound so loving or being loved means absolutely nothing.

Good weather = good thoughts = good feelings

It’s amazing how weather can have such an affect on me. So in honor of my uncommon optimistic attitude, I’m raving about random things that are going to be in the haps’.

My dead orchids are blooming as well the magnolia tree in the front yard.

Death Cab is playing at Millennium Park on June 3rd. I highly doubt they’ll play anything from Transatlanticism, but it’s going to be an afternoon at the park with good music and good weather. I’m really excited. I have an extra ticket if anyone is interested in going with me.

According to my daily horoscope, my “transit period” is here…whatever that means. I’m assuming it deals with transitions going on in my life. Good? Bad? Who knows, but I’m ready to make some changes in my life.

Augusten Burroughs is coming to Chicago! I think it was two years ago that I sent an email to his publicist begging him to come to Chicago and I’m ecstatic that he’s doing a book signing two miles from my house. He’ll be at the Old Orchard Barnes & Noble on May 15.

I’m hosting Shitfaced Friday.  I’m throwing a little get together at my place and apparently a few people have already reserved a nightcap on my sofa. Sarkies for breakfast. It’ll be grand.

I love my boys. When I have days that are in the dumps, they never let me leave without laughing and they always remind me of how wonderful I am when I doubt myself. They’re absolutely fantastic.

I look forward to this week. I’m going to be productive and start some postponed work and research papers while taking advantage of the good weather while it lasts.
